SENOIA RACEWAY OPENS THIS WEEK WITH TELEVISED RACES AND EMPTY GRANDSTANDS


Senoia,GA – Senoia Raceway will offer it’s first glimpse 
of real competition this year this Thursday and Saturday nights.  Both 
of the events will be spectator-free events allowing only drivers and 
designated crew members toattend in person.  Race fans will be able to 
watch the racing action from the 3/8ths mile track and Thursday 
night’s$5,000-to-win DirtonDirt.com Super Late Model Shootout 
presented by E-Z Go through live streaming on line at DirtonDirt.com 
and FloRacing.com.

 

Co-promoter Mayes Massey’s Thursday event will feature some of the 
nation’s best Super Late Model and Crate Late Model competitors for a 
weeknight event that will precede Senoia’s plans for an eight-division 
program on Saturday.

 

“I’m really excited about the possible exposure we can get, and I 
really feel like we have one of the best surfaces in the South,” said 
Massey, crediting partner Doug Stevens with the track preparation. “He 
kind of takes a scientific approach to prepping the track and his 
surfaces are usually unbelievable.”

 

Senoia,shuttered during the corona virus pandemic along with dirt 
tracks nationally,will follow social distancing protocols Thursday 
with teams limited to six people, including the driver. Neither 
grandstands or concession stands will be open at the track that has 
successfully hosted practices, including one when Georgia State Patrol 
officers stopped by the verify regulations were being followed.

 

“We passed the tests, I guess you could say, of what you’re supposed to 
do,”Massey said.

Saturday night’s ‘Bull Ring Bash’ will offer area racers in the Limited 
Late Model,Crate Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Hobby, Bomber, Mini 
and Hot Shot the opportunity to compete for the first time this year.
